Shape Of Water Movie Review

Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is a mute woman who is working as a cleaning lady in a high-security US government area. One day she comes across an amphibious creature brought for research from South America in a water tank. She develops a unique bond with this creature and her life changes forever. During this process the creature's fate and very survival is in the hands of a marine reserach biologist from Russia.

Can the biologist protect the creature from danger? What will be the turn of events in Elisa's life? For all this and more you will have to watch the movie.

The movie and the screenplay are good.
A unique story of relationship between a  creature and a human which has been depicted well.

Of the performances Sally Hawkins is superb as Elisa with her great expressions and acting. The other good performances  include Elisa' s father Giles (Richard Jenkins), Elisa's friend Zelda (Octavia Spencer), Marine Biologist Dr Robert (Michael Stuhlbarg) and of course the cunning Colonel Richard (Michael Shannon).

The music of the movie is good. Reminds you of the English musicals that we have seen in the past.

Overall Shape of Water is a fascinating movie. It's strictly for adults only due to its content. With 13 Oscar nominations this year, it won four Oscars namely Best Picture, Best Director,  Best Production Design and Best Original Music Score.
Watch it.
