Ventilator Movie Review

Ventilator is a Marathi movie which tells the story of simple, kind-hearted and most respected person Gajju Kaka who is battling for his life due to coma and is on ventilator for life support in the hospital just days before the auspicious Ganpathi Festival in Mumbai. The family and the relatives of Gajju Kaka visit him including Raja (Ashutosh Gowariker) the nephew of Gajju Kaka with whom he has a very close and cordial relationship. But there are others who turn up to visit Gajju Chacha for claiming what he had promised to give them in his village. The son of Gajju Chacha Prasanna (Jitendra Joshi) on the other hand does not want to visit his father due to the argument he had with his father the night before. Prasanna only seems to be interested in politics.

This serious subject has been dealt with in a very humorous way by the director Rajesh Mapuskar (of Ferrari Ki Sawari) and conveys a good message. The movie also shows the relationship of father and son and how his son realises his own mistakes from the past mistakes committed by him. The movie depicts humour and emotions very well.

All the actors in the movie have played their part well with special mention for Ashutosh Gowariker and Jitendra Joshi. Its nice to see other veteran actors including popular theatre artistes in the movie.

Overall the movie is worth a watch and is recommended for everyone.

Pink Movie Review

It is a story of 3 young professional girls Falak (Kirti Kulhari), Andrea (Andrea Tariang) and Minal (Tapsee Pannu) who are staying together as tenants in a locality of South Delhi. They are in state of shock after an incident that happened on the night of rock concert. On the night they are invited by Rajveer (Angad Bedi), the son of a powerful politician, to a resort in Surajkund after the rock concert. Rajveer knows Meenal through a friend who is her classmate. Rajveer tries to molest Meenal, and Meenal in order to protect herself smashes a bottle on Rajveer's eye which leaves him bleeding. In order to avenge this attack, Rajveer and his friends pressurise the girls and threaten them to vacate the house and leave. Minal is then forced to file an FIR against Rajveer. Upon knowing this Rajveer also files a false FIR against the girls labelling them as prostitutes. Minal is then arrested for charges of Attempt to Murder case of Rajveer. Deepak Sehgal (Amitabh Bachchan) is a retired lawyer who is suffering from an illness and also has an ailing wife. He is neighbour of these 3 girls. The circumstances surrounding the case and consultation with his ailing wife persuade him to represent Minal as defence in her case. The film then shows as to how Deepak fights the case and eventually wins to prove the girls innocent.

This story is a take on today's society who have a dubious thinking towards women as they are considered to be inferior to men. The message has been very well conveyed on this burning issue. The movie also communicates to you about different legal remedies available like a zero FIR which is very important in today's world and a bail procedure for women.

Of the performances Amitabh Bachchan does a great job as a lawyer defending the case, followed by Dhritiman Chatterjee the judge and Piyush Mishra as the prosecution lawyer. The 3 girls Tapsee, Andrea and Kirti have also acted well especially Kirti. Angad Bedi is menacing as Rajveer and does a good job.

The music of the movie is also good.

Kudos to the director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary in her debut film, who has previously won national awards.

Overall the movie is a must watch for all age groups. Absolutely recommended👍👍👍

Rustom is a movie of an honest naval officer Rustom Pavri played by Akshay Kumar who surrenders himself to the police after having killed his wife Cynthia's(Ileana D'Cruz) alleged lover Vikram Makhija(Arjan Bajwa) who is Rustom's friend. Vikram's sister Preeti played by Esha Gupta on knowing about his murder decides to take revenge from Rustom and wants him to be punished. The police officer played by Pawan Malhotra who is investigating on the murder case wants to find the truth behind the murder. What happens next? Will Rustom be proved innocent or will he be found guilty of committing the crime? Will Preeti be successful in her intentions? Will Rustom forgive his wife?

Of the cast Akshay Kumar yet again after Airlift gives a gr8 performance as the naval officer Rustom and does full justice to his role. Ileana D'Cruz who has comeback after a hiatus of 2 years also gives a good performance as his wife Cynthia. Esha Gupta is menacing in her role as Preeti Makhija and gives her best performance. Kumud Mishra also provides some funny rib tickling moments. Sachin Khedekar is also good as the prosecution lawyer.

Music of the movie is already a hit and is melodious.

Direction of the movie is also good as it keeps you on the edge of the seat which Neeraj Pandey is known for making.

Overall the movie is a gr8 thriller and will be a superhit at the box office. It is recommended.

Udta Punjab Review

Udta Punjab highlights the reality of drug menace in Punjab which has ruined the youngsters and their families. Its shows the political connections of ministers with drug lords so as to lure people and win votes. It shows four characters Tommy Singh(Shahid Kapur), Preet(Kareena Kapoor), Kumari Pinky(Alia Bhatt) and Sartaj(Daljit Dosanjh). Tommy Singh is a rockstar who consumes drugs and the youngsters are also lured by him, Sartaj is an assistant inspector who wants to clean Punjab from drugs, Preet is a doctor managing these drug patients and Pinky is a labourer who is supplying drugs to drug lords.

Its a gripping movie throughout without any single dull moment.

Of the performances Alia Bhatt gives her career best and award winning performance and is suprrmely talented as the labourer who has dreams to be a hockey player. Airlift Review

Airlift begins with August 1990 when the Iraqi forces had attacked Kuwait which awakes Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar) has a wealthy life which he shares with his wife Amrita (Nimrat Kaur) and his young daughter. On August 1990 Ranjit is awoken from slumber when he gets a telephone call about Iraqi forces attacking Kuwait. He is forced into a series of dangerous situations and now has the responsibility of evacuating millions of Indians from the city in this tense situation when Saddam Hussain and his Iraqi forces are causing havoc in Kuwait.

The movie is based on the real life incident that took place 25 years back when the biggest evacuation of Indians was carried out which was a historical event and was also recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records. The movie is gripping and hard hitting from the beginning till the end when the evacuation is being carried out.

Credit to the producer Akshay Kumar and director Raja Krishna Menon for backing such a story.

Akshay Kumar comes up with his finest performance till date which is probably his career best. Nimrat also plays her supporting part very well as his wife which is her second mainstream movie after Lunchbox. Purab Kohli, Immamulhaq(chief of Iraq Army force) and other supporting actors also play their parts well.

The music given By Amaal Malik and Ankit Tiwari is also good especially the patriotic song sung by KK and the Arijit Singh song

Airlift overall has a solid plot which is very well executed and acted. It is a must watch for every Indian as it is full of patriotism. Don't miss it. It is highly recommended.
