Hundred Foot Journey

Hundred Foot Journey is a movie on food and emotions. It show two different cultures of India and France, who are enemies of each other as they start competing with each other on Indian and French food, and how they later on go on to become friends of each other especially.

The Indian family comprising of Om Puri starts an Indian restaurant to compete with the French restaurant run by Helen Mirren, but his restaurant has to close down due to circumstances. Hassan(Manish Dayal) wants to become a chef and to start with he joins Miss Mallory(Helen Mirren) and finally becomes a chef with two michelin stars with his girlfriend Margeurite(Charlotte Le Bon) He later on goes on to become a popular chef with three michelin stars in a big restaurant in France.

Of the actors Om Puri and Helen Mirren are terrific in the movie. The other actors including the Charlotte Le Bon, Manish Dayal have also done a good job. Other actors play their supporting roles well. Juhi Chawla in a brief appearance playing Om Puri's wife has limited scope.

The photography of the movie is also very good as it catches the picturesque locations of countryside France.

The music by AR Rahman as always once again is good.

Overall it can be said that Hundred Foot Journey is a lovely movie touching on sentiments and emotions.

Ek Villain Review

Ek villain is a dark thriller and edge of the seat movie. The movie shows two contrasting characters of Ritesh Deshmukh and Siddharth Malhotra.

Of the performances Siddharth Malhotra does a wonderful job who has been shown as an angry young man who kills people, but due to circumstances he changes with time.

Ritesh Deshmukh on the other hand looks menacing as a villain and gives his best performance. He is a versatile actor who is capable of doing any type of roles. This would be his career changing performance.

Shraddha Kapoor on the other hand has also done a good job, except in the begining she has overacted. Her chemistry in the movie with Siddharth Malhotra also looks good.

The other performances in the movie include Kamaal R Khan, Aamna sharif, Shaad Randhawa, Remo Fernandez and the father of Shraddha Kapoor. Kamaal R Khan is strictly ok, but others manage their part well. Its nice to see remo fernandez and that too in a negative role.

Music of the movie is a notch above Aashiqui 2 as all the tracks depict different moods. The music is really melodious and has to be the best flavour of this season. Mohit Suri has a really good ear for music. All the composers including Ankit Tiwari have done a wonderful job. The entire album rocks.

Overall even though the movie has nothing new to offer it is still engaging and a one-time watch.
